IBM Security Identity Manager is a sophisticated and highly scalable Identity Management solution. The main focus is on enterprise customer how ever it can be a good solution for small environment as well. The Identity Management of IBM shows its real strength in the ability to customize. Full featured API's and Webservices are available to integrate your System exactly as you wish. ISIM is a very complex Identity environment with dependencies to different base system like Websphere Application Server, IBM DB2, IBM Security Directory Integratoror the IBM Security Directory Server. This makes it highly configurable and the right choice for stability, consistency and the ability to adapt but on the other hand not the right solution for "quick and dirty" approaches. IBM has it's Security Identity Governance as well, a second solution for Identity and Access Management. IGI is focused more on the user interface and out of the box business requirements around compliance, ISIM and IGI base on the same Adapterset and are combinable.
